Quantum open systems and turbulence
We show that the problem of non conservation of energy found in the spontaneous localization model developed by Ghirardi, Rimini and Weber [1] is very similar to the inconsistency between the stochastic models for turbulence and the Navier-Stokes equation. This sort of analogy may be useful in the development of both areas. PACS numbers: 05.40.Fb, 03.65.Bz Typeset using REVTEX
متن کاملopen quantum systems
Quantum mechanics must be regarded as open systems. On one hand, this is due to the fact that, like in classical physics, any realistic system is subjected to a coupling to an uncontrollable environment which influences it in a non-negligible way. The theory of open quantum systems thus play a major role in many applications of quantum physics since perfect isolation of quantum system is not po...
متن کاملFrom open quantum systems to open quantum maps
In this paper we show that for a class of open quantum systems satisfying a natural dynamical assumption (see §2.2) the study of the resolvent, and hence of scattering, and of resonances, can be reduced, in the semiclassical limit, to the study of open quantum maps, that is of finite dimensional quantizations of canonical relations obtained by truncation of symplectomorphisms derived from the c...
متن کاملMultipartite quantum correlations in open quantum systems
In this paper, we present a measure of quantum correlation for a multipartite system, defined as the sum of the correlations for all possible partitions. Our measure can be defined for quantum discord (QD), geometric quantum discord or even for entanglement of formation (EOF). For tripartite pure states, we show that the multipartite measures for the QD and the EOF are equivalent, which allows ...
متن کاملTransitionless quantum driving in open quantum systems
We extend the concept of superadiabatic dynamics, or transitionless quantum driving, to quantum open systems whose evolution is governed by a master equation in the Lindblad form. We provide the general framework needed to determine the control strategy required to achieve superadiabaticity. We apply our formalism to two examples consisting of a two-level system coupled to environments with tim...
